The shawl, which Gill started crocheting in August 2003, would have been ready in time for his projected birth date, but in fact he beat it by almost a month.
Joe who now weighs over 7 lbs. is shown here on 17 February 2004 - the day he started wearing "new-born-baby-size" vests.
